Chief Information Officer (CIO)

Overview

Jim Bossio serves as the Chief Information Officer for CUIMC IT, overseeing enterprise technology strategy across clinical, research, education, and administrative domains. Jim leads the digital transformation of the medical center, ensuring secure, reliable, and user-centered services that support CUIMC’s mission.

Leadership Bio

Jim joined Columbia University Information Technology (CUIT) in 2014 and was appointed Associate Vice President (AVP), Infrastructure Services in April 2015. In this role, he oversaw Infrastructure Services, the Data Center & Operations group, and the Network Support team. Jim joined CUIMC as CIO in 2023. 
 
Prior to Columbia, Jim was responsible for IT Infrastructure at Avon Products in New York, where he managed a global team ensuring high availability for online web ordering systems.
Jim holds a BBA from Iona College and is ITIL certified. His office and a large portion of his department are based at 154 Haven Avenue.
