Zoom Features Added for CUIMC
CUIMC Zoom accounts can now take advantage of features that were recently enabled, joining multiple meetings and using Zoom with audio visual equipment in conference rooms. See information below or on our main Zoom page: https://it.cuimc.columbia.edu/zoom.
Join Multiple Meetings Simultaneously on Desktop
You can now join multiple Zoom meetings at once from the same computer. To use it, simply:
- Join the first Zoom meeting by clicking Join in your desktop app, clicking the meeting's join URL, or go to https://zoom.us/join and enter the meeting ID.
- For each additional meeting use the join URL in your browser or manually enter the meeting/webinar ID at https://zoom.us/join.
- The Zoom app will automatically open the additional meeting/webinar.
Note that the feature does not allow hosting multiple concurrent meetings.
Zoom in Conference Rooms with AV
CUIT has enabled SIP/H.323 functionality for all CUIMC Zoom accounts. If your department is using conference room AV units, you can now leverage the room's cameras and microphones to connect to CUIMC Zoom meetings. This is especially useful for the NYP-installed Cisco AV systems that have been set up across campus.
To initiate a call, simply dial MeetingID.Password@zoomcrc.com (e.x. email@example.com) and the AV system should do the rest.
